The great value if this app is the text to voice translation both from English to French and back. The voice quality is great. They to come out with a Ispeak Japanese!

It translates pretty well and the voice sounds natural. For $1.99, it is well worth the money and good enough for French beginners like me. For future updates, I wish we could type in a French phrase, and the app could say it in French. **update 22Feb2009: now we can type in a French or English phrase, and the app can say it directly. This is great! Merci Beaucoup!

Ive been looking for a translator just like this!!!!

So after reading the other reviews I thought this app would be worth the money. However, I am at a loss as to why mine is a lame translator (with even the most basic words) at best and does not speak the translation at all....in either language.... And any would be fine at this point. Thank goodness its only a $2 loss. Moving on to find something that actually works!

Once again, a fantastic little app. The voice is clear and much smoother than you expect, and the ability to slow down the speech is brilliant. Those moron commenters that give 1-star when clearly they just need to turn up their volume are annoying me...

Got all excited to use this app. Web you hit translate it crashes. Regardless of it being en>fr or fr>en. I assume the new ios4 update is the culprit. Looks promising though!

Crashes when I click on translate button

It used to work fine, but now it is really hard to get something translated... The app reports a server error every time when you press "translate" bottom.

It used to be great. But now it wont translate more then 90% of the time, server error. It was a great app. I LOVED it, but very disappointed that this issue has not been resolved. And as far as the speaking abilities, yes its not prefect but its pretty damn good for a computer.

Please fix server error! Its ruining the app! Asap

Should state that it requires a live Internet connection to do any translations. Using the original iPad with iOS 5.5.1, the saved sessions if deleted just all return when the next save is done. So re-saving a session just makes a lot of copies of the same notes. Otherwise it is a pretty cool application suited to all levels.

It really helps with the dictionary but there is no speaking voice i do not know why.

After updating to the iOS 10 system, this app is basically useless. Ive had it for years, and never really had an issue until now. Its a decent app for quick translations, but now, it doesnt work. Will be deleting it.

I liked the app but it has started crashing every time I use it ~ un"fix" whatever you did!
